migration of .net framework Visual studio 2019 web based project to .net core 3.1 RRS feed

  • I am getting error The type or namespace name 'Configuration' does not exist in the namespace 'System.ServiceModel'

    I added  'System.ServiceModel.primitive  but no luck any suggestion

  • I didn't know WCF worked with .NET Core if that's what you're trying to migrate to Core.

    Did you run the Core compatibly check on the project before you  tried to migrate?

    Thank you for posting here.

    WCF is a windows-specific technology, while .net core is cross-platform. So .net core does not currently support WCF.

    You need some alternatives, take a look at IpcServiceFramework and CoreWCF.
