Parameter passing from report to report to report RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There,

If I have report parameter P in main report Report A, I have sub report Report B inside Report A, then there is Jump to Report Action at Report B linking to Report C, can parameter P being passed from Report A to B then to C?

It seems Parameter P can pass from Report A to Report B, if run sub report Report B directly, Parameter P get passed from Report B to Report C from Jump to Report action. But it got lost at Report C if I am running report from Report A.

  • Hi Don,

When passing parameters to Report B from A, even though Parameter P is not use in that report, simply pass that parameter to report B. Then, when passing parameter from report B to Report C, pass parameter P from report B, not report A. Since parameter P from B got it's value from parameter P in Report A, then it will got pass to Report C. I hope it's clear, because it got so many report a b c .. lol.

  • Hi Don,

We can't pass parameter p from A to C directly.

But, we can pass parameter p from A to B. In B, we use another parameter to retrieve the value. Let's name p2.
Then we pass p2 to C.

Now, the value of parameter p will be passed to C.

    Hope this clearly.

  • Hi Isham,

You are right, I already got myself confussed, it feels like tongue twister! lol. The Parameter P has been used in both Report A and Report B, eventually Report C, and I do use value from Report B when passing to Report C, so you think there should be any issue passing parameter A - B - C?
