    hi...to all
    i've designed an report for the employee database..
    i want to display the total no of records in each page.. how to do this..
    consider there are 100 records..
    for eg.. if in a single page there are 50 records  it should display 50 records..
    and if that database continues in next page then it should display remaining total no records..

    It is bit tricky, so becareful when creating function as I suggested. First Create a formula as CounterInit

    global numbervar pageCount;
    pageCount:=0;
    pageCount;

    and place that formula in page header. Now right click field -> Common-Supress.

    Create another formula as RecordCount

    global numbervar pageCount;
    pageCount:=pageCount+1;
    pageCount;

    and place that formula in detail section Now right click field -> Common-Supress.

    Create another forumla as RecordDisplay

    global numbervar pageCount;
    pageCount;

    And Place that in Page Footer Section.

    I think there is another special field called record count/record number. You can try that. If that does not split the count by page number, you can write a formula to do that.

    can u provide me a formula for that please ..

    since from yesturday i'm trying..

    i want to diaplay total no of records that are in page.

    if i 74 records then it will be two pages..

    first page contains 40 records then it should display total 40 records at the end of page..

    in the next page 34 records means it should display 34 records at the end of page..

    and the final total records 74 should display in footer..
