How do I create an install condition for DirectX 9.0c? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I only want to install DirectX 9.0c if it's not already installed on the target PC and if the version of DirectX is prior to 9.0c.  I am using InstallShield 2008.  Already posted in their forums and created a support ticket.  They then pointed me to http://support.microsoft.com.

The original problem I was having was when an install was run over the network, DirectX always got skipped.  InstallShield had me update their DirectX install object to do "deferred execution" but now it installs EVERY TIME.  So I inquired about setting up a condition.  That is why I am on here.

Hope someone can help.  Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

This forum is to support inter-operability questions on Open Specifications.  The Open Protocol Specifications can be found at: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc203350.aspx.
Your question does not appear to be related to the Open Protocols Specifications documentation set.

I recommend you follow-up on the ticket you already opened and works with the DirectX support experts to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, you may also want to search DirectX on the XNA forums in case someone has already asked a similar question.
