Unrecognisable database format RRS feed

  • Question

  • Any threads relating to connecting VSE2012 to an Access 2010 database. I have installed the ACE 12  provider but still get unrecognised database when I use the connection wizard from VSE 2012?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    >>still get unrecognised database

    Could you please provide the exact error message?

    And for connecting the Access database, we usually use the OleDb way:

    string conString = @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\Users\v-minbao\Desktop\Tools\S20132011.accdb;";

                // create an open the connection

                OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(conString);

                try

                {

                    conn.Open();

                }

                catch (Exception)

                {

                    throw;

                }

                finally {

                    // close the connection

                    conn.Close();

                }

    Please note if your provider is 32bit, change the project to target to X86 and if your provider is 64bit, change it to X64.

    If I misunderstand, please let me know.

    Regards.
