Printing on WES 7 SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • ok so I get a bunch of HP t5740 windows embedded 7 sp1 (32bit) for xmas...thanks santa.   Alright, all attemps to connect to printing has failed.  I want to be able to print to a TCP/IP printer. NOT to a queue, NOT to a USB, This works fine in regular windows but embedded says I dont have enought space when adding the driver.

So what's the secret to printing in embedded.  Tried it with both print queue, (it didnt like the 32 bit driver) and with a local printer HP 1320 USB, couldnt find all the drivers.

If you can be specfic also, dont say use the univeral hp driver, help a guy out here.

  • You are now on the right forum. Again, WES7 allows OEMS to custom build a Windows 7 OS for their platform. Since HP built the image for the thin client, contact HP would be the best course of action. They may have an update for printing support.

  • Ok, it was a simple fix.   after battling to the death.

    1.  Change the environmental variable from z:\temp   to c:\temp, turn of Print Spooler service

    2. now i can add local, tcpip and if added to the domain a domain printer
