Comment IDs in 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

In Word 2010 comments in the review pane showed as the user initials followed by a comment ID: JL[Cmnt5] (or something like that).

In 2013 it simply shows my logged in name with no ID - makes collaboration tough, and I can't find a setting for this.

Does anyone know if it can be reverted to the 2010 style showing the comment ID?

    Thanks,
    Jack

  • Hi Jack

You need to ask this question in the "Communities" forums where end-user questions are handled. The MSDN forums deal with programming the Office applications, not configuring them:

But you might want to scroll down to near the end of this blog article, where it does describe the steps required to see the "old-fashioned" initials + ID values. But this is outside the review pane.

You can change your personal setting to use static "User Name and initials" rather than the logged in information to mark Mark-up: File/Options/General, activate the checkbox under the User Initials.
