WEC 7.0 Security Loader API unexplained RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have read everything twice about Security Loader at http://207.46.16.248/en-us/library/gg155695.aspx. I still have few questions for Security Loader experts.

    • It is mentionned that "Remote Tools Framework and Windows Embedded Compact Test Kit" are already signed by Microsoft. Therefore if I activate Security Loader in image, I will need to add the public key (certificate authority used to sign these binaries) into ciroots.p7b, right? Where can I find this certificate/CA?  Is this CA already into image?
    • The Security Load API is very lightly documented (LoaderVerifierAddToBlockList(), LoaderVerifierAuthenticateFile(), ...). These is no overview of the API purpose. Functions description is almost litteraly the function name with no more details. What is the purpose of this API? Should I write code to block the file from loading, or is it automatically done by the OS?

    Thank you in advance.

  • I agree the documentation is vague.  Since you are reading the documentation on MSDN, you should use the "Feedback" link at the bottom of the pages to give feedback to the documentation team.

  • Thank you for the suggestion. I were expecting someone could help anyway in this forum with the Security Loader feature. Any help is more than welcome.
