  • Hi Folks

I am getting the error message outlined above when I try to divide one column by another in a DAX formula. Th forumula is =[SMS Charges]/[SMS Count]). See this link for view of table that includes these two columns

I have found any explanation of on this occurance in the document "Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) In PowerPivot for Excel 2010" from the  powerpivotfaq.com.. but can't see a fix.

Can any one suggest a fix?

  • Hi Steve

If you are doing this as a calculated column, try using the formula below:

    =IF(ISERROR([SMS Charges]/[SMS Count]),1)

Sometimes the entire column errors out if the calculation cannot be performed due to bad data in a specific row.  With the expression above, you can then filter the rows with value 1 and more closely examine the expected values [SMS Charges] and [SMS Count] which can more easily help you uncover if bad data was loaded
