Exchange data between metro app and desktop app

  • can my metro app exchange data with desktop application? I have some desktop apps with rich functionality. if my metro app can make use of it, i need not to waste much time to re-develop again. please help me.

  • To clarify, Robin is correct that there is no supported way to perform IPC between Metro style apps and desktop apps. This includes local web services: Metro style apps are not able to make network connections back to their local machine.

  • Hi Captain,

    You cannot exchange data between metro and desktop app.

    Metro app runs within isolated sandbox.

    There is no supported means of IPC between Metro apps and desktop apps.
