Isn't OneTouch deployment supposed to perform auto-updates? Not for me! RRS feed

  • I wrote an Excel AddIn and, logically, would like it to perform updates on its own. I prefer that the check be done every time the user starts Excel and the "customization" is loaded.

    I figured that that following would do the trick:


    In short: I have been unable to see any kind of update at all. The users' computers are running the same version that I deployed manually by double-clicking "setup.exe".

    The "Publish" operation from Visual Studio is fine. I can see new files being copied to the "Publishing Folder Location" and the version incremented.

  • It turns out that the "setup.exe" file must be installed INSIDE Excel:
