External domain redirect causes public SharePoint site to display blank page RRS feed

  • Question

  • We want to make our website a public SharePoint site, which is now at oursite-public.sharepoint.com. We also have an external domain: oursite.com, redirected to said SharePoint site.

You can view this site under oursite-public.sharepoint.com and it displays properly, however going to oursite.com renders a blank page.

I can say that redirection works, because after going to oursite.com, developer tools in Firefox show that oursite-public.sharepoint.com loads in 3-5 seconds. Afterwards, page source contains empty head section and a frameset and a link to oursite-public.sharepoint.com within body section.

Doing same in IE11 causes the browser to notify the content cannot be displayed in frames and hints to open up content in new window. Then it displays oursite-public.sharepoint.com.

How can I make our site accessible via oursite.com so users won't ever see the SharePoint address?
