LightSwitch Error after update datasource RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello .

A LightSwitch project developed with VS2010 works fine even after updating the datasource countless times .

After yet another change to the structure of the data base , you start regularly, but accessing any picture presents the following error:

  • Try cleaning and rebuilding the solution from the Build menu.  If the problem persists, please post the exception detail from the server log.

Keep in mind that it is quite possible to make a breaking change when you modify database structure after an application is built upon it.  You may have to regenerate your data access components in the project, depending on how you've modified the database.

Typically you finalize your database layout before you start writing any application code, or you auto-generate the database from the application code allowing it to reflect changes during development.

  • Hi Reed.

    Thanks for answer.

I tried to clean and rebuild the project, but the problem persist.

    The server log isn't written.

The database was changed in Sql Management Studio, like several times before.

In all screens, when go to data base show error.

    What else can I try?

  • Hi Roberto

Here are a series of tracing method to collect a stack trace in LightSwitch below.

How to Get a Stack Trace in LightSwitch

    and How to: Enable Diagnostics

You can find and fix errors that occur in the code that you write by debugging your application.

    hope it helps.
