Is there any SDK supported to edit a .ppt binary file? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I've been working on a project which needs to edit .ppt binary file and change the SlideShowDocInfoAtom, however, for some reasons, I cannot use Office COM component or other Office-related dlls.

So here comes the question, is there any SDK supported to do the things mentioned above. Cuz I know I can use OpenXML SDK to do the things with a pptx file, but when it comes to ppt file, I'm confused.

Thx a lot if anyone can help.

  • Hi skaleto,

Unfortunately, there are no SDK's which Microsoft can point you to for a similar feature set as OpenXML SDK. If you have a specific question about the structures, fields, etc... in our Open Specifications while implementing your solution we will try to assist you. Please refer to the document and section when asking your question (i.e. [MS-PPT] 2.4.1 DocumentContainer).

Others in the community might have suggestions for tools or SDKs to use for this purpose and they are welcome to post.
