How to app in visual studio from recording of kinect video? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to run my code in visual studio from a recording of kinect video that I took in the Kinect studio instead of using the live video stream. How do I do this? Thanks!

  • Basically open the XEF/XRF file in Kinect Studio, then click on the Connect button and hit play.

Open your app, and watch the events come streaming in from the Kinect Studio playback.

Here's a video on it here (Note: the video is on the beta version, which has changed visually but all the functionality is still there in the release.)

Here's more info from the K4W blog here

  • Thanks for that super helpful response! What if I wanted to have two recorded videos stream into visual studio/my app. Any ideas how to go about that? Thanks.

  • Two different stream types of the same Kinect session of streams - is pure code - see Kinect Evolution demo.

Two different streams of two different Kinect sessions on same computer- can't be done (usb bandwidth issues). On different computers if you have a network proxy such as the prototype of the one inside the RoomAlive SDK.
