    I am planning to get a new dev box with WN 7 Home to run VS2008 dev and SQL2008 dev.  Is WN 7 Home a good choice? I need an Installation checklist for VS2008 and SQL2008 on WIN 7 Home so  I can successfully install latest SPs of VS2008 and SQL2008 and have SSIS/SSAS/SSRS working perfectly. I have previously experienced unsuccesful install of the SQL2008 SP1 on my current dev box. Please advise the correct order to install everything.

    I didn't have to do anything special on my machine, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I installed in this order:


    VS 2008 Professional Edition

    MSSQL 2008 Developer Edition

    Let Windows Update run and downloaded and installed all updates.


    I haven't had any problems yet on my dev box or my laptop, where I have the exact same products installed.


    Please post if you do run into any problems.
