I downloaded Small Basic last night from the Microsoft site - so it is the latest copy. The initial screen appears to be OK I tried writing the Hello World program.It will not run. Kept on getting 'not responding'. Also, the program will not save. There are no error messages I saw the recommendation about '.NET Framework 3.5 SP1' - followed the link and ran the SP1 update. No messages appeared so I presume that it worked OK I have Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 . Automatic updates are on. The PC is a HP A6612uk AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450 2.30Ghz with 2GB of RAM
Asd a 'When all fails' type of guy, I downloaded the complete net.framework including SP1 again (it is a huge file). When I ran the file, I got the message that it was repairing the file - why? no idea. However the good news is that 'Hello World' now runs. This might work for the person who reported a similar problem
