Short-cut icons for Word.docx 365 application RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where can I find the short-link to place on my status bar for quick launch of my 365 WORD.docx app?

I normally look in c:/x86 programs/WINWORD.exe and right-click to add a short-cut to my desktop and drag/drop the short-link to my status bar.  I could not locate the .exe and tried Google search for an answer. I am not successful in finding the file folder location for OFFICE 365 apps on my system.

    I have WIN10 (updated) o/s on a DELL Inspiron 15R Laptop.

I am licensed for OFFICE 365.

    Thank you. Bob

  • The Office 365 applications are installed in

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16

By the way, an easy way to add Word to the taskbar is:

    • Click the Start button or press the Windows key.
    • Type Word
    • The first search result should be Word desktop app.
    • If you have Windows 10 version 1809, there should be a flyout menu with Pin to taskbar among its menu items.
    • Otherwise

  • Hi Bob,

The Office 365 default installed folder is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15.

    Please see the following link:
