How to have different sessions in IE tabs? RRS feed

A asp.net website is currently using cookies so when it is opened in multiple IE tabs, the session cookies are shared among all tabs.   If I simply change the web.config to use cookieless session, what will happen when I open the website in IE tabs?

I'm not sure whether setting cookieless session in web.config is similar to turing off cookies in IE or not?  When I turn off cookies in IE, I will get error in opening the website due to trying to save cookies to my pc.

Basically, I want different sessions in IE tabs but don't need to change the asp.net coding.  Not sure whether it is even possible or not.

Cookies are managed by the client (browser) and you can't dictate it via your code.  Some browsers share sessions between tabs, some have new sessions for tabs, some give the user the ability to configure if a tab has a new session or not.  The upshot is that it is nothing you can control.
