enable DNS on private network RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am building a network of server with adds and dns  with a client win7

I have created a server but when enabling adds the DNS will not run due to incorrect IP settings

I have created a private network in azure with the addr range.

I need to change the private IP adress of the server by :

    > get-azureVM -ServiceName rocserver1 -name server1 |Set-AzureStaticVNetIP -IPAddress ,|Update-AzureVM

    I get the error :

pdate-AzureVM : BadRequest: The value for parameter 'SubnetNames' is null or empty.
    t line:1 char:95
     ... ress |Update-AzureVM
       + CategoryInfo          : CloseError: (:) [Update-AzureVM], CloudException
       + FullyQualifiedErrorId : Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Commands.ServiceManagement.IaaS.UpdateAzureVMCommand

    questions :

    - how does the cloudservice rocserver1 know that is can select the ip adress from the created network = examtest ( with standard subnet-1)

    - how do I set the correct subnetname ?
