Project Server 2013 - PSI (CSOM) - Limitations removed? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Will the 1000 task manipulation limitation in Project Server 2010 be removed in Project Server 2013?

If the answer is no, will the Client Side Object Model (CSOM) support it?

    Thank you very much!

  • Hi Mario,

I don't think so. Please see below article:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg204248(v=office.15).aspx

When you create or update a project, the PSI can process up to 1000 rows of data at the same time. If the total number of rows of new or updated data in all tables of ProjectDataSet exceeds 1000, the PSI returns the ProjectExceededItemsLimit error.

I suspect that there is a limitation though I am not sure about the CSOM since havn't tested this. You can do CRUD operations (create, read, update, delete) using REST queries with the ProjectServer service. However, REST queries for the Project Server CSOM are designed primarily for platforms other than Windows. For Windows platforms, you can use the CSOM managed assemblies.

    Hope that helps.
