Create Access database from an existing database RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I create a new Access database from an existing database.  Similar to Workspace.CreateDatabase in DAO.  Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to include a reference to DAO and do it that way?

    Thanks.

  • Since Access is a file-based database, the simplest way to create new database is just to copy file of the pre-existing database file. You can have template database file and just copy it each time when you need new database. You can do it from code using copy functions for files.
