Opening .csv output files in Excel RRS feed

  • I am creating data output files in csv format from Reporting Services 2005  (.csv is a requirement of the application that processes the data).  The problem is that when a user wants to open the file in Excel, the contents do not automatically parse into columns using the comma as delimiter.  I suggested that they use text-to-columns to parse, but this is too much work...  (sob, sob)  I noticed that if I open the csv file in Textpad and do a convert to DOS then save, when I open it again in Excel it will parse automatically on open.  Has anyone else seen this behavior with RS-generated csv file output?  Any thoughts on how I can create these reports in Reporting Services so that they will parse in Excel automatically?
