Calculated Column - Most Recent Date RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have read through countless topics and havent found exactly what I am looking for.  I have a list of clients and then another list of activities, such as a meeting, with the date of the meeting, which is tied to the list of clients.  On the Client list, I would like show the most recent activity date for each client.

Can anyone point me in the right direction???  Thanks in advance.

  • Before going down something you may have already read, has your research touched on the following: -

      • Content Query Web Part
      • Paid 3rd party solutions

  • I have not yet looked at Content Query...will start there before looking at third party solutions.

  • I think the title of your topic is a little misguided if that's what you've been looking at. Have you tried using a web part page and then putting both lists in there connecting clients list to activities list? If I understood your situation/requirements correctly, you could do this:

    1. Create a web part page or use an existing web part page

    2. Add both Clients and Activities lists to that page

    3. Connect Clients list to Activities list based on the client name or whatever parameter is common between the two lists

Now when you select a client from the Client list, the Activities list will be filtered to show activities for that selected client only. You can configure the view of the Activities list to show most recent items at the top.

  • That gets me closer.  I am working to creating a report that shows the most recent activity date, and then work from there as far a follow up date.  Let me start with that.

  • Hi,

I agreed with parvez, you can use connect both webpart and filter them based on date. Please read the below microsoft article:

    Hope it could help
