Find if PC has .Net Framework RRS feed

  • Question

  •

Is there anyway to find if a PC has .Net Framework  and what version

I prefer to run an executable, because I want to read from a vbscript during the installation of a program, and if does not exist then I will run  dotnetfx.exe /q:a /c:"install /q"

    Thanks in advance

  • You have C++ code from aaron here http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/09/01/459708.aspx

You might want to write VBscript code to detect the existence of .net 2.0. It is as simple as checking the following registry (provided all the other assemblies and registry keys are not corrupt or missing)

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v2.0.50727] Install = 1 (REG_DWORD)
