file versioning

    Question

  • Would like to know if there is any feasibility to automatically version out file when a file copied to azure data lake with the existing file name?

Also, let me know all the options available to retain the older versions of files. I mean when I replace file, older version should be retained with some timestamp (or some other methodology) suffixed.

  • Hi Vijay,

At present there is no automatic file versioning / snapshot capability in ADLS. You would have to implement such a capability separately in a custom manner. Here is a user voice item that covers this. Please feel free to upvote.
