Installing localized versions of ReportViewer RRS feed

  • Question

  • I created an app that uses the WinForms ReportViewer 2008. I would like to deploy a Japanese (and eventually other languages) version of the app using the Japanese ReportViewer published by Microsoft.

I downloaded the ReportViewer redistributable from http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?FamilyID=cc96c246-61e5-4d9e-bb5f-416d75a1b9ef&displaylang=en and followed the instructions at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms251723.aspx for deploying localized ReportViewer. However, when I run ReportViewer.exe, I cannot find any <lang> directories besides "en" nor any executables named ReportViewerLP.exe, in the directory specified or anywhere on my hard drive.

Can anyone help me install the Japanese version of ReportViewer?

    Thanks,
    Eva Monsen

Deploying Localized Versions of ReportViewer Controls

The ReportViewer control includes language packs for eight languages: Chinese-Simplified, Chinese-Traditional, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. To use a localized version of the control, you must do the following:

    1. Run ReportViewer.exe.

    2. Navigate to the folder that contains the language pack you want to use. Language pack folders are located at <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\BootStrapper\Packages\ReportViewer\<lang>.

    3. Run ReportViewerLP.exe.
