Service Bus Database Migration RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi - my question is not related to Azure Service Bus, but on-premise service bus, I cannot see a more appropriate forum.

We would like to migrate SB data from our current SQL server to other options. We have a lot of work upcoming where we may need to take two paths to achieve the goals:

    1. Use our current SB farm connecting to an SQL server and upgrade the SQL to HA somehow - either multiple SQL servers synchronising data or create an availability group.

    2. Migrate data from a legacy SB farm to a new SB farm with NLB on SB and an SQL availability group.

    So my questions are:

Are these data synchronisations and migrations possible with service bus? Can you change the SB DB connection string (and to another single, or multiple servers)?

I see the messages in the queues are encrypted within the database - is this solely encrypted via the farm key? If I build a new farm with the same key can I then import/read these queues?

    Thanks a lot!
