Date format displaying incorrectly RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am extracting data from a SQL server, by embedding my SQL code into the powerpivot table properties.  The data returns fine, and the date field is formatted as I want it (dd/mm/yyyy) in the Powerpivot window.

However, when I pivot the date format becomes changed, i.e 01/09/2011 becomes 9/1/2011.  And I know the pivot is reading the date as text because it is left aligned.  I have tried all methods of changing the format in the pivot but nothing works.

Can anyone help me get the date to display properly in the pivot?

    Thanks . . . Jason

  • Hi Jason,

Formats used for numbers, currency, dates and times should follow the format of the locale that is specified on the computer that opens the workbook. You can use the formatting options in the worksheet to control the way that the value is displayed.

    Thanks,
