Yammer as web-part in SP2010 on premise RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are using the Yammer web-parts on SharePoint 2010 and we are using IE9. (It's the same in IE11 as well)

When we publish a story with pictures we do that from the full version of Yammer.

In the web part in SP2010 we see that there is an 'x' in place of pictures (although in Yammer the picture is fine).

Does anyone know why this 'x' displays and not the users picture?

We use SharePoint 2010 on premise as our intranet, and we use a Yammer web part ( version 3-1-44).

It's not consistent. The majority of our users use Win7 enterprise with IE9. About 50% can see Pictures

  • Users who can't see the picture, try to collect Fiddler trace for same.

Check the 404 error message if any.

    Try different browser

Ask users from non working system to check the site from a different system where it is working for them

  • We have the same issue on our installation.

When using Internet Explorer 11 it does not work. When using Chrome and Firefox it normally works, but not on all computers!

As we prefer using IE for our Sharepoint solution it is not a good response to our employees that they need to use Chrome to see the Yammer news pictures. When opening Yammer.com, the pictures show just fine in the same browser. I guess it must be related to the pictures being stored in a different site and then seen as "active" content?
