TC5.1.6 : Does the client component installation support advertising? RRS feed

  • Question

  • This test only gives tests steps for when installing using a MSI.

Does this test not apply if the application does not use Windows Installer for installation?

If not, what should be the steps for a non-MSI installer?

    Thanks,

  • Yes, if you do not have client component getting installed, this test case doesn't apply.

    1.       Windows Installer is required for this test case, as the only method we are checking for ‘advertising’.

    2.       You are exempt from this test case if you are not Certifying for the 2 for 1 Vista Logo.

    Hope this helps,

So, to be clear: if we are not using Windows Installer and we are not certifying the client for Vista, we can ignore this Test Case because it does not apply to us.

    Correct?
