oftware arhitecture and design pattern RRS feed

  • Question

  • If you have a product backlog containing short explaination of functionality.

Today, you don't have a software architecture and design pattern but you have a product backlog.

    My question is:

Who is responsible for creating a software arhitecture and design pattern?

Maybe product owner, scrum master, the scrum team or someone else?

  • That diagram doesn't really represent a Scrum workflow. The two main places for the architectural planning would be the during the sprint planning and retrospective. Also the architect should be a member of the team. Scrum Expert is a good resource, the have an article on architecture in Scrum here.

  • How does this question relate to WPF? Setting the software architecture and applying design patterns within the application is the responsible of the software architect and the software developers and these roles are part of the scrum team (or development team).

Please refer to the following page for more information about Scrum: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrum_(software_development)

Please also note that these forums are intended for Microsoft's products and Technologies only and this forum in particular is intended for questions about WPF.

  • The development team are responsible.

Scrum glosses over the fact that you still need someone to decide on an overall direction and architecture.
