WCF RIA Services Contract RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Following the directions I found in this article - http://blogs.msdn.com/brada/archive/2009/11/22/ria-services-a-domainservice-is-a-wcf-service-add-service-reference.aspx - I created a class library and web application projects with a RIA Services class that could be used by ASP.NET and windows forms client with Add Service Reference.

The RIA Services class has the methods getproducts, InsertProduct, UpdateProduct DeleteProduct. The problem is that the WCF contract exposed by RIA Services only has two methods : getproducts and submitchanges, and the method getproducts in the contract isn't the same than getproducts method in RIA class, because I changed the return type in the RIA Class and the contract didn't changed (yes, I rebuild the project and used update service reference to test this).

So, the question : How to control the contract exposed by a RIA Services class ?

How to include InsertProduct, UpdateProduct and DeleteProduct in the contract, instead of submitchanges (or at least as additional methods) ?

How to include custom methods, if I create them in my RIA class ?

I tried to use the attribute OperationContract in the methods and didn't work. I also included servicecontract in the class and also didn't work.

  • Unfortunately I do not have an answer for your question, and I am not sure this is the best forum to get help about RIA Services. Perhaps you can check this forum:
