SSRS Hide a tablix row (Hidden) does keep blank height RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hiding a row in a tablix does remove the content of the row - but is keeps the height of the row!

    Even CanShrink does not help!

    NOT hidden:

    Row NOT hidden

Row HIDDEN - but Height still stays

  • Did you figure this out?  I am having similar issue with trying to remove the whitespace.

  • Hi,

Can you try  select report and assign ConsumeContainerWhitespace property to true?

  • I found it out meanwhile.

You have to change the Row Visibility:

  • I found the way to remove the white space as wel

    1. click on the row and set propertyGeneral/CanGrow to True. (optionally i set CanShring to true but it does not shrink somehow)

    2. make the default heigh of your column small so you almost cannot see it.

when you toggle raw visibility it will add content and the column will automatically grow to the size of the content.

You cannot control the max size so if you have long text you might need extra steps.  In my case this trick worked as a nice workaround.
