  • Thanks for draggin this from the Windows 7 Forum Drew

Though to implement it, I have chosen to create a separate Folder[QL]to store my current
and future shortcuts. I then add that "Toolbar"/Folder.

There are some "shortcuts" that cannot be pinned to the TaskBar nor the Metro Start Screen.
An example is navigating to the Properties of your Ethernet Adapter.

    6 clicks to navigate

    Control Panel
    Network and Internet
    Network and Sharing Center
    Change Adapter Settings [Left Pane]
    Wired Ethernet Connection [Double Click]

Make and then place that shortcut into your QL Folder and....CLICK...your're there!

Even IF insta-search popped up the app with just the letter 'W'ired , it still means
that I had to take my hand off the mouse, type the letter 'W', re-grasp the mouse and
then click the app to launch using the Metro Start Screen.

If and when I purchase a tablet, Metro will be the interface of choice.
But on my desktop computer 'mouse mileage' is significantly reduced
with the use of QuickLauch as opposed to the Metro Start Screen interface.

Of course [speaking to the community] YOUR mileage may vary :)

I'm quite relieved that they did not deprecate the Quick Launch feature.

That is one of the first things I will try to enable in the Consumer Preview Editon.

    Thanks Again

  • You're very welcome. And obviously I very much share your enthusiasm for QL.  I was so glad when I discovered I could still have it in Seven & now, very happy can still have it in Win8.  The convenience & time-saving it affords is absolutely super!!
