Uploading my location data in Windows store apps RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! I am creating an app for windows store but i have got a problem. I want to upload my current location data to some web source so that other users using the same web source might get information about my location data! (i have to do this this way only no suggestions about other ways). For the second part i.e. to get data from some web source i found bing spatial data services can do the job with very simple few lines code but how to upload my current location data directly to bing spatial data services. Please provide me with some code for that!

  • Regarding uploading data to the Spatial data services, you can use the approach as shown here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh304481.aspx

The link shows how you can use the HttpWebRequest class to send the request, which you can still use in your Windows Store apps, but instead of HttpWebRequest you can use the Windows.Web.Http.HttpClient class to send a HTTP request. The HttpClient class of the Windows.Web namespace is the recommended way to send HTTP requests in a Windows Store app. You can take a look at the HttpClient sample that shows how you can send a HTTP POST request. http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/HttpClient-sample-55700664
