Windows 2012 server How to make C++ EXE as a Windows service? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a C++ EXE, which I am able to create a service from it using below commandon Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

    EXE_NAME.exe /Service

But when I run the same command on Windows server 2012, we are not seeing anything. Control returns to the command prompt again without prompting any error. If we check it on "Services", we will not see this service name. No error on any event viewer.

Could you please let me know any way to make a C++ EXE as an service in Windows Server 2012 server and we can see that EXE as service in services list?

    Thanks.Ram
