Calling Bing Map ajaxv7 from secure (https) site. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am calling Bing Map ajaxv7 from secure (https) site. I get following error:

    ran insecure content from http://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/v7.0/js/bin/7.0.20120626190654.37/en-us/veapicore.js.

    I call the ajaxv7 using following:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=7.0"></script>

    I create map using: map = new Microsoft.Maps.Map(document.getElementById('myMap'), {credentials: 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXX', enableSearchLogo: false, showDashboard: false});

    1. Do I need a separate credentials for http and https calls?

    2. Is there another url besides src="http://ecn.dev.virtualearth.net/mapcontrol/mapcontrol.ashx?v=7.0" do get https secure content?

  • 1.) No

    2.) Yes. You need to pass the s=1 parameter following the script URL. See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh134781

  • As noted before you haven't added the &s=1 parameter to the end of your initial script reference to Bing Maps.
