I want to develop windows 8 store application where in beginning i want to add functionality of software activation. In windows 7, there is msi installable where we give product key and then software is being activated and if wrong product key is given, it's suspended. Same thing i want to achieve in windows 8 store apps when user start installing package.Tuesday, May 21, 2013 8:27 AM

If you are intending this for a desktop app I would ask for some clarification, but for a Windows Store app, these are the available business models we offer to our developers.

As far as I know, there are no plans to offer product keys for web based app’s but this is how you get your voice heard, so thank you for taking time to post!

Hi,
Why bother with activiation? This is why the app store is actually there. You submit your app to the store and charge a special amount. The user will buy your app and you will receive your money from MS.
If you would like to add IAPs (in app purchases) do that and you might make some more money with your app.
