SQL Server 2014, Import from Excel 2013 file RRS feed

  • When import data from excel, it transfers upto 250 fields only. Is there any way to include all excel columns?

    Alternatively tried the following syntax:

    SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', 'Excel 12.0;Database=C:\0PMO\AppDevResourceUsage.xlsx;HDR=YES', 'SELECT * FROM [ResourceUsage2015] ')

    But getting the following errors:

    Syntax error in FROM clause. (Microsoft Access Database Engine)

    Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

    This is know limitation for the Microsoft Access Database Engine. We also can get this limitation from the Access limitation from link below:
