PowerPivot connect to ODBC Database RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've connected to my ODBC database using the OLEDB/ODBC connection option, and successfully connected to my server. When trying to import the tables I am using the 'Write a query that will specify the data to import' option and typing my simple select query of select * from (tablename) so in this case I've typed select * from city

When I validate the query it tells me The SQL statement is valid, however when I click finish I get the following error:

    ERROR [HY010] [MySQL][ODBC 5.2(a) Driver][mysqld-5.0.85-community-nt-log]

I have ensured that my pc, excel and powerpivot are all running the 32 bit versions and don't know what is causing the problem.

  • Have you tried the MySQL data source connector instead of ODBC? I have used that successfully to connect to MySQL.
