how to save depth data to disk quickly? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys,

I'd like to save the depth data to disk. For a 640x480 resolution depth image, it takes about 3s to write to a txt file.

I'm wondering is there any method can make it fast?

    Thanks,

  • Are you trying to do this from your own application? Have you tried using Kinect Studio that comes with the 1.5 SDK and Toolkit?

  • Yes, I have tried Kinect Studio. What's your experience using Kinect Studio?

It always loses frames and the gap is big, like 30 frames sometimes.

    Thanks,

  • Yes, I got it.

Closing 3D view will make the recording much better.

    No losing frame.

    Thanks,

  • But is there a way to access the depth data when you're not connected to the camera?? Let's say you capture the video using Kinect Studio, and you want to access the depth and colour information later. Is that possible?
