  • Hi,

    I am trying to get client machine where Silverlight App is running can any one suggest how to get??

    Lot of Posts suggest to get hostname from following code but in Silverlight those references are not accessible to get Hostname. or please let me know what are the references need to import in Silverlight 4.

    Please suggest proper solution.

    HostName=System.Net.Dns.GetHostName();
     System.Net.IPHostEntryipEntry=System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(strHostName);

  • Hi Dkrishna,

    I suggest you use Javascript and then call the Javascript function in Silverlight application to get the client machine name. You could refer to following thread.

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/922476/how-can-i-read-the-clients-machine-computer-name-from-the-browser

    But it works in IE which is support ActiveX object.

    Best Regards,
