PowerView error while loading the model in SharePoint RRS feed

Answers

  • Hi VJ,

According to your description, you are experiencing the error when clicking in Power View icon in Power Pivot Gallery SharePoint, right?

In your scenario, please try to check if the SQL Browser service is running or not. When you start up the ‘SQL Browser’ service, then the Power View visualisation works.  The SQL Server Browser operates as a Windows Service. It has two main roles: it listens for incoming requests for Microsoft SQL Server resources, and it provides information about SQL Server instances installed on the computer. If it isn’t running, then the connection fails since the data source can’t be found.
