Why is version update not published? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks,

24 hours ago I updated a BETA app (added screenshots, updated the .xap) and got an email that it will be available on the app store within 2 hours. Well, it is not! It's beta, not even public, why does it take so long?

  • This is because of the caching. If you go to the app store and search by name that may not apper to you. Some times if you go to the app store through the Web browser it may appear.

  • Thanks.

But how can a beta tester update it on their phone when it's always cached?

I had this working for my account (listet myself as beta tester) all the time but now it's no longer working.

  • Are you using Windows Phone 8.1 device to check that ?

  • 8.0. There is no 8.1 for Lumia 520.

I now figured out that I can open the store website on my desktop and then "push" the app to the phone. When I open the store page on the phone there is always the old version display so I really might be an cache problem.

  • Hello Quape,

In some cases it may take some additional time for your update to push to all markets. Make sure you always update the version number since reusing the same version number can cause this type of issue.
