Build C++ output with Configuration Properties and with Librarian/Linker

    Question

  • Hi,

I have a dynamic library C++ project and I see that I can have different outcomes to get the output target from:

    1. Properties > Configuration Properties > Output Directory + Target Name + Target Extension

    and

    2. Properties > Configuration Properties > Linker > Output File

From project's process flow I see that in the output directory pointed by (1) I get myprojectname.dll.intermediate.manifest and in the full path one I have a different one (as I define: c:\builddir\coconut.dll).

Therefore, what is the (1) good for to be defined by the developer? At first sight (1) and (2) should be the same.

    Thanks
