Installer for project c# RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I want to add to my project - setup project, but I don't have this template in my solution explorer. I have visual c# 2008. What can I do? Thank you for help.

    Based on your description, it seems that you are running Visual C# 2008 Express Edition on your machine, right?

    If yes, I'm afraid that Visual Studio Express IDE does not have the option of Setup Project, only the retail version like Standard Edition have Setup and Deployment project. You may try upgrading Visual Studio Express product to Standard Edition or above.

    Or you might need to try some third-party software installer like Installshield, WIX and others. For free software, you can try Windows Installer XML (WiX). It is a toolset that builds Windows installation packages from XML source code.
