HIPAA 278 Schema under the HIPAA Folder in BT 2009 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does any one know known issues with this Schema? I am using this schema from BizTalk 2009 distribution and trying to validate a file from a Trading Partner. I get 155 errors mostly around invalid code in REF, BHT etc...etc...

The Partner says and I have confirmed that some of the codes are indeed part of the HIPAA guide but are missing from the respective Element Enumerations.

Anybody encountered anything like this recently with this Transaction?

    Thanks,
    -amit

  • There have a lot of changes in codes for elements of REF, BHT, HL ... for 5010 from 4010A1. I have tried to validate an instance of 4010A1 against a 5010 278 schema and got a lot of errors related to invalid code. Please check if the instance is valid according to the schema against which you are validating.

Can we know some more details regarding the schema that you are using ?

    1. Are you using the 4010A1 278 out of the box schema that BizTalk provides ?
    2. Did you do any customization to the Out-Of-the-Box schema ?

    Thanks,

  • I am using the expanded schema that comes with BizTalk under the 4010A1 folder. I am not using the plain vanila 278 Schema from the original folder under X.12 folder.

I did not modify the Schema either. The file is not 100% correct. But as per Partner the REF codes are indeed valid as per HIPAA guide. But BizTalk complains they are invalid.

  • Can you check if your partner is sending a HIPAA 5010 compliant instance and you are trying to validate against HIPAA 4010A1 schema?

Can you manually validate the incoming instance against the schema that you have deployed ?

    Thanks,
