.Net Framework 3.5 redistributable RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I have a licensed copy of Visual studio 2008 and have developed an application on it. Now when I distribute the product the  client's may or may not have .Net Framework installed on their PC. So can I just include .Net 3.5 as a pre-requisite in the set up project. Are there any licensing issues associated with .Net 3.5 which I will have to take care of ?

Please guide me regarding this licensing issue ..

  • Hello Bharath,

.Net framework itself is a free product and you may download it from here, if you have any issues about licence, you can call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist, and you can get more detail information from there. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites to find contact information in their locations.

In addition, you may include .net framework 3.5 as a pre-requisite in the setup project. You can refer to this artilce. If you have any issues about the setup project, you may post on the ClickOnce and Setup & Deployment Projects Forum so you can get better and quicker response as this forum is for the setup of .net framework.

    Thank you for your understanding.
