Differences between IE vs Chrome/Firefox RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have restructured a master page with tables and in all other browsers, things are great.

In IE (two versions 8&9), menu items towards the right are being chopped off and scattered within the drop downs (really weird). My menu is very much like: http://www.conservation.org/Pages/default.aspx but theirs functions properly. Any idea what code would prevent or cause ie to freak out with  a menu?

The menu structure is built in the flavor of:

    Div (ul)(li)(ul)(/ul)(/li)/(ul) /Div

  • Do you have a screenshot you could share? Or maybe the code?

  • Hi Smith,

How does the output look like in Compatibility View option of IE8/9?

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Smith,

Are you using MOSS 2007 or SharePoint 2010 ?

  • I didn't see a difference in compatibility mode. It is a 2007 WSS 3.0 site.

I seem to remember having an issue like this, a year or so ago when creating a Spry menu in DW. It seems like there is a width issue that may need attention but I can't remember the specifics of that past situation. I am simply assuming that this may be a repeat.

    I appreciate the help.

  • Can't really help without the .css file. Looks like you've got a width issue with your topnav and/or your floats.

If you do that I'm certain we'd all be interested in helping :)

  • Thanks for the reply. I put the code, css, images and js files in a folder and zipped/uploaded for review.
